(elementary)
Our artists can work with a minimum of 4 classes to create a show inspired by themes such as:
Children’s rights
The environment
Francophonie (The importance of speaking French, Franco-Ontarian History…)
Tales
Overcoming your fears
etc ...
The focus is always on empowerment, social action, acceptance of all facets of self while aiming to make the world better through the arts.
HERO’S JOURNEY WORKSHOP
Creation & performance of short theatre pieces (Grades 6 to 11)
This workshop aims to:
Develop the creative process and teamwork by giving learners strategies for completing a long-term project (important for post-secondary studies)
Deepen the understanding of the narrative/plot outline (Exposition, rising action, climax, falling action, dénouement)
Deepen self-knowledge by discovering and owning the different archetypes that inhabit us
Explore the different motivations that push the human being to act (love or power / fear)
Create a mirror between oneself and society in order to develop compassion
Touch the human heart by creating a dramatic arc inspired by universal values
Inspire the learner to recognize one’s own wounds and turn them into concrete actions to have an impact on the world
Throughout the creative process and rehearsals, learners will benefit from the expertise of a professional artist who will also direct their short theatre pieces.
Each student will be able to choose whether to act in the play or take on a leadership role in the artistic or technical team.
At the end of the workshop period, learners will present their creations during a show in front of family and friends.
